On 4th May students from the Sagrada Familia secondary school visited the Casa del Traductor. The Dutch translator Brigitte Coopmans, who is staying with us at the moment, had a long talk with the students – most of whom were around the age of 16 – on the occupational hazards of being a translator, and both Brigitte and the House coordinator, Enrique Alda, were happy to answer the students' questions.
It was a very enjoyable visit for the students, giving them an opportunity to get a better understanding of what translators do and the work that is carried out at the Casa del Traductor.
On 3rd November the coordinator of the Translator’s House went to the School of English and German Studies, Universidad de Zaragoza, to give a talk about the House and the work of literary translators.
On 27th October a group of students from the School of Translation and Interpreting at the Duques de Soria University Campus, accompanied by the dean, Ana Muñoz, visited the House.
Márta Patak arrived on 21st October to translate into Hungarian En la Orilla, by Rafael Chirbes.
